Staci Reeves had seen this deer on camera for 2 years in Area 3 Beauregard Parish, and it had stayed in velvet year round, so they assumed that it was a doe with horns. On Oct. 20, at about 8:30 a.m., she managed to slip in and get a shot at it. After killing it, she realized it wasn’t a horned doe, but instead was a “cactus buck.”
