2024 Louisiana Sportsman Show Big Buck Contest

The number of entries in the Louisiana Sportsman Show Big Buck Contest was less than in recent years, but the quality of bucks killed was excellent! Youth hunter turn out was good and Hunter Hoffman from Springfield won first place with a huge 241 1/8 Non-Typical buck that he killed on a Hunt of a Lifetime Hunt in Alabama. This buck had 25 points, a 26 6/8 inch inside spread and main beams that were 28 inches long. The buck will qualify for the Boone and Crockett Big Game Record Book.

This buck was also recognized as the Best Buck in the Contest. Congratulations to Hunter who killed a buck of a lifetime!

Samuel Ward III from Port Allen killed a 167 4/8 Typical buck in East Feliciana Parish and won second place with his 12 pointer. This buck will qualify for the Boone and Crockett Recognition Program. Drake Burchfield of Walker took third place with a 133 5/8 buck killed in Concordia Parish.

Other youth hunters included Lane Stogner who killed a 126 3/8 typical in Concordia Parish; Layla Robinson of Maurepas killed a 120 3/8 typical in East Baton Rouge Parish; and Ethan Beatty of Walker killed a 110 typical buck in West Feliciana Parish. Congratulations to all our youth hunters who are the future of deer hunting in Louisiana.
