On a recent trip out of Lafitte, Captain Theophile Bourgeois IV and his family went after early morning speckled trout. Bourgeois took the fam to Brusle Lake and started catching trout as the sun was still rising. The group used a mix of Bomber topwater baits and Berkley gulp. They caught plenty enough for dinner before the bite eventually died off.
