When you exit the mouth of the Tchefuncte River, it looks like you can simply turn left and shoot straight over to the Causeway.
Don’t do it!
There’s a flat in that area that’s loaded with old cypress stumps.
The Corps of Engineers has installed a series of channel markers to make leaving the river easy. Follow them, and don’t turn east toward the Causeway until you pass the last red beacon.
