In my 26 years of covering the outdoor scene in South Louisiana, I had neglected one particular fishing destination because of how difficult it was to reach.
Getting there is a piece of cake now, and so with a gentle nudge from my cousin, Mandeville attorney Donald “Bubby” Douglas, I hit this particular area on my last trip, and I was ecstatic I did!
The fishing was far better than I had anticipated, and Douglas and I ventured less than a mile from the boat launch.
