Marsh Man Masson vid: Father vs. son in one-boat bass tournament

Bragging rights and spinnerbaits on the line.

My son Joel and I had a week off of our bass-fishing club, but we still had the itch for competition, so we set off on the Tchefuncte River battling each other, as well as the clock. The prize was slightly less than big-money events like the Bassmasters Classic — two spinnerbaits of the winner’s choice.

As is usual on the Tchefuncte, our haul wasn’t massive, but everything’s relative, and it was a fun, productive way to spend a few hours. Or at least it was for one of us.
