Thunder, lightning and a limit of speckled trout in Lake Borgne

If I had known there would be as much rain and lightning as there was I would have never launched the boat into Lake Borgne.

Never!

Windfinder, as well as other weather services, only predicted a couple hours of light rain and, what was really appeasing to me, light wind and calm seas.

But you know the old saying, “Ya gotta go to know” and that’s exactly what happened.

Lightning and rain chased me off my intended fishing spots, mostly rigs in Lake Borgne, and I had to roll with the punches in order to make the day happen.

Watch it all unfold in this week’s fishing video.
