There’s something magical going on right now at the mouth of the continent’s largest river. Two months ago, the Mississippi slowed to a relative trickle, pulling a wide variety of fish out of the backwaters they like to hide in and making them easily accessible to anglers.
This week, my buddy Chris Macaluso and I headed down to the Plaquemines Parish port of Venice to sample the action, and we caught a bunch of fish a couple of different ways.
