In this video, I went with my buddy Jimmy Hickman and his son, Cole, on a catfishing trip to check his line of hoop nets. Hickman is a commercial fisherman and he shows in this video how to catch catfish using a hoop net.
We went out of Caernarvon, where the Mississippi River has an influence on the surrounding marsh. This area is not far from downtown New Orleans and it’s loaded with catfish.
Catching catfish with hoop nets is a dying art and I hope the fishing video gives you an appreciation for what goes into it.
