These are the dog days of summer in Louisiana, and many speckled trout will swim to structure in deeper water to avoid the higher temperature water along shorelines. The inshore oil and gas rigs are one class of structures that can provide food for trout in cooler water, so fishing the bottom around these rigs is a great strategy for summertime trout fishing.
