Catching fish every cast on the bank of the Mississippi River

In this Outside the Levees video, I went to catch saltwater fish in the Mississippi River. Fishing in the Mississippi River offers an exciting and diverse experience for anglers. The river is home to a variety of species, including bass, catfish, redfish and speckled trout, making it a prime destination for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. The rich ecosystem of the river, combined with its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, creates ideal conditions for year-round fishing. Popular fishing spots along the Louisiana stretch of the Mississippi River include Baton Rouge, St. Francisville and the surrounding bayous. Whether you’re fishing from a boat or along the riverbanks, the Mississippi River provides abundant opportunities for anglers of all skill levels to reel in a big catch. Be sure to check local fishing regulations and hire a guide for the best chances of success on this legendary waterway.
