There’s something special about hooking a shrimp you just caught yourself, casting it into that deep, rolling water, and feeling a fish slam it a few minutes later while your camp stove sizzles behind you. Fresh bait, fresh fish, and a little shoreline cooking all happening at once — that’s the kind of simple river living that keeps me coming back.
