For the past few years, with the consecutive openings of the Bonnet Carre Spillway, Chas Champagne has ventured east to Florida waters to chase speckled trout in the spring and summer. Champagne fell in love with the Perdido Key area and has been fishing it often ever since. With most of Florida and Alabama’s beaches, marinas, and restaurants now open for business, Louisiana anglers can travel with their boats and families to enjoy some fine fishing outside of Louisiana. In this video, Champagne shows how he targets speckled trout on docks using the Matrix Mullet topwater bait.
