Target other species during the late duck season

Like most hunters in Southeast Louisiana, grays and teal make up most of the ducks taken by Capt. Nash Roberts IV, but during the latter days of hunting he will often target other species.

“Late in the season we often shoot redheads, ringed-necks and canvasbacks,” he said.

That said, he does have standards.

“We also have lots of dos gris, but I pass on those,” Roberts said with a chuckle.
