LWFC approves Notice of Intent to amend trapping and handling regulations for foxes and coyotes

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved a notice of intent to amend trapping and handling regulations, fox/coyote hunting preserves, purchase and sale of live foxes and coyotes and permitting year-round coyote trapping. The action came Thursday, April 6, during the commission’s April meeting in Baton Rouge.

Among the amendments, a special permit would be issued by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) for the trapping of coyotes outside the annual season.
