LWFC adopts amended NOI for rule changes to reptile and amphibian regulations

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) adopted an amended notice of intent (NOI) for rule changes to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Reptile and Amphibian Regulations. The action came during the LWFC monthly meeting Sept. 5 in Baton Rouge.

The changes are designed to further protect native reptile and amphibian resources in the state as well as improve governance and regulation of non-native and native species. To see the amended and original NOI, go to https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/resources/category/commission-action-items.

LDWF will conduct a public hearing on the proposed changes Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. in the Joe L. Herring Louisiana Room at LDWF Headquarters in Baton Rouge, 2000 Quail Drive.

Public comment will also be accepted until Oct. 22. To comment on the amended NOI and for more information, contact LDWF State Herpetologist Keri Lejeune at klejeune@wlf.la.gov.
