Nutra deer attracts marsh deer

It’s impossible to put food plots in marshes, for obvious reasons. Plus the marsh is a virtual smorgasbord of deer food.

Additionally, a feeder with the high moisture levels on the ground with soggy boggy soil isn’t conducive for trying to get deer into the crosshairs.

But, products like Nutra Deer placed strategically along canal banks can entice a deer to follow a particular deer trail toward your stand.

The only drawbacks are raccoons — which like some of the same foods deer eat — and dampness.

Outdoor BrandZ’s Jeff Williams suggests using a trough.

“Nutra Deer has stuff in it that deer love, and under the right conditions and used properly it can attract deer to your stand and hold them there,” Williams said. “Where coons are a problem, we’ve used troughs and raised above the ground instead of placed in piles on the ground help reduce some of that.”

I used Nutra Deer last year, and caught several bucks small and large feeding on what the raccoons left when they were finished. It was impressive how just the smell on the soil attracted deer.
