The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has corrected an error in the printed 2026-27 Louisiana Hunting & Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Regulations pamphlet regarding the Deer Primitive Firearms (either-sex) season at Maurepas Swamp WMA.
Page 64 of the printed pamphlet lists the dates as Jan. 10 & 18-24, 2027, which erroneously omits Jan. 9 as an open date. The correct dates are: Deer Primitive Firearms (either-sex): Jan. 9-10 & 18-24.
The online version of the regulations pamphlet has been amended to show the correct dates. Hunters who have a printed copy are encouraged to note the correction on page 64.
