Vandals strike LDWF equipment on Atchafalaya Delta WMA

Bulldozer, UTV damaged on Big Island, release states

A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries bulldozer and utility vehicle were vandalized recently on the Big Island portion of the Atchafalaya Delta Wildlife Management Area in St. Mary Parish.

The bulldozer was buried in mud and water up to the floorboard and the UTV was found stuck in a ditch, according to an LDWF press release.

The vandalism occurred between July 19-24 in an area accessible only by boat, the release states.

LDWF is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.

Total damages to both vehicles have yet to be determined, according to the release.
