Water leak brings down LDWF Web site, email server

Water leak soaked agency’s computer room

A burst water line at the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries flooded the first floor of the agency’s Baton Rouge headquarters last night, bringing down the LDWF’s Web site and disrupting the staff’s ability to email.

LDWF spokesman Bo Boehringer said the agency’s Internet services could be down for 48 hours. However, hunting and fishing licenses can still be purchased at vendors around the state, by calling 888-765-2602 or online by logging directly into www.wildlifelicense.com and clicking on “Louisiana.”

Boat registrations also be renewed at www.wildlifelicense.com; however, anyone needing to register a new boat or transact the sale of a used boat can bring necessary paperwork to the office at 2000 Quail Drive in Baton Rouge.

“LDWF personnel are working to restore all Web-based services supported from the department’s (headquarters),” the news release said.
