Magazine now available digitally

It’s easier than ever to pick up a copy of Louisiana Sportsman. In fact, you never have to leave your house, office or camp because issues can be purchased right from your computer, smart phone or mobile device.

The new Louisiana Sportsman Digital Editions provide every page of information found in the printed magazines in the same graphic form the state’s outdoorsmen have come to expect. In fact, there is absolutely no difference – except you can peruse it on your computer, phone or iPad.

“More and more people are turning to digital magazines, and we wanted to be at the forefront of this movement,” Louisiana Sportsman editor Todd Masson said. “So now you can take your magazine with you, even in the field.”

The December issue is online right now, as are several back issues. Click here to go to the list of issues available.

“We constantly receive requests for back issues, so we’ll be adding more and more past issues over the coming weeks and months,” Masson said. “That way, if you are looking for a particular story, you can simply find the month it was printed using our online table of contents and then jump over to our Outdoor Store to pick up that issue right on your computer.”

Digital editions of the magazine cost $3.99 each, and are compatible with PC and Apple-based computers and smart phones.

“The issues are downloaded in PDF format, which is supported by both computer platforms,” LouisianaSportsman.com’s Andy Crawford explained. “So there’s no reason why you can’t have instant access to each magazine.”

The downloading process couldn’t be easier: Just log onto the Outdoor Store, click on “Louisiana Sportsman Merchandise,” and then “Digital Editions.”

All that’s left is to add the magazine in which you are interested to your shopping cart and check out.

“We’re even looking into accepting PayPal, which will make the check-out process even easier,” Crawford said.

Once a purchase has been completed, an email containing a download link will be sent to the user. A click on the link will open the PDF on the user’s computer, smart phone or iPad.

On the Apple platform, downloads can be stored in iBooks. These PDFs can then be transferred between iPhones, iPads and computers via iBooks.

“Once the issue is placed in iBooks, you can pull it up anytime you want,” Crawford said. “It’s just a very easy way to receive, store and read Louisiana Sportsman.”

PC-based smart phones and readers are handled in a basic way: Just download the PDFs and save them to the location of your choice.

Browsing the digital editions of the magazine is easy, as the table of contents includes hyper linking to allow users to “jump” to stories of interest.

“If you are interested in a column listed on the table of contents, just click on the title and you’ll be taken directly to that page,” Crawford explained. “This is just the easiest way to keep what has become the Louisiana’s outdoor bible on hand at all times.”
