Bodcau WMA closed to small game hunting Oct. 26-27

Closing will allow for safer opening weekend for modern firearms deer season, LDWF says

As announced in the 2013-14 Wildlife Management Area season regulations, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is reminding Bodcau WMA users that small game seasons will be closed there on Oct. 26-27.

According to a press release, the decision was made to prevent conflicting uses on the WMA during the opening weekend of modern firearms deer season.

For those wishing to hunt small game in northwest Louisiana that weekend, Bayou Pierre WMA, Jackson Bienville WMA, Loggy Bayou WMA and Soda Lake WMA will be open for this activity.

Bodcau WMA, which is named after the bayou that bisects it, is owned by the US Army Corps of Engineers and is operated by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. It is located in Bossier and Webster parishes, the release states.
