Shimano has redesigned its low-profile Metanium baitcasting reel series and hit the market with six new reels, right- and left-hand models in three different retrieve speeds: 150 and 151 with 6.2:1, 150HG and 151HG with 7.1:1 and 150XG and 151XG with 8.1:1.
The Metanium reels feature Shimano’s CoreSolid Body frame of lightweight magnesium, a brass drive gear and narrow MGL III spool for added casting distance.
All six Metanium reels have 10 S-ARB (shielded anti-rust) ball bearings in strategic locations, and a one-way roller bearing for no-handle back play.
Additional features include Shimano’s MicroModule Gears and SVS Infinity brake system.
The line capacity ranges from 110 yards of 12-pound mono or fluorocarbon to 135 yards of 35-pound braid.
