Louisiana Sportsman TV Debuts

A year ago, Louisiana Sportsman joined forces with GeauxFish TV to bring you the very best the magazine has to offer through the cable connection in the back of your television. This year, we’re going to burst through your screen.

In 2006, the television program will become the first outdoor show in Louisiana to be aired in high-definition.

Now, when we show close-ups of lunker trout slapping topwater plugs, you’ll feel the urge to duck to keep from getting wet.

The switch to high-definition was made possible through the hiring of producer John Jackson, who has won numerous awards for his production work.

The show’s host, Kevin Ford, said viewers with high-definition sets won’t be able to believe their eyes.

“We got something good started with GeauxFish TV, and now we’re taking it to another level with high-definition,” he said. “We’re very fortunate to have John Jackson.”

Jackson’s creative touches will become immediately evident to fans of the show.

“(Louisiana Sportsman Publisher) Tony Taylor, Kevin Ford and I share the ideaology that the best-produced outdoor show is always our goal,” Jackson said. “Louisana is such a beautiful place that it needs to be shown in the best-quality medium available.

“The higher resolution (of the high-definition feed) will allow you to pick up every spot on a speckled trout and every scale on a redfish.”

The show’s focus will also become broader. GeauxFish TV has always been a saltwater show, but now freshwater fishing as well as hunting and cooking will get thrown into the mix.

To reflect the change, the show will now be called Louisiana Sportsman TV.

As always, the show will air on Cox Sports Television throughout Louisiana. It also appears in select markets in Arkansas, Texas and Florida.
