Tie this knot on your baits for more strikes

You wouldn’t think something as simple as a knot would get you more bites when fishing hard-plastic baits but Capt. Charlie Thomason said it does.

Loop knots make a major difference on all hard baits, particularly the ones without a split ring.

“The best thing about a loop knot is it allows the bait to work freely to where it looks as natural as possible and gives you the best presentation for the technique you are fishing,” Thomason said.

But this veteran guide doesn’t stop at hard baits when tying a loop knot.

“I even do it on my jigheads sometimes if I need a lot of action on my baits,” he said.
