Hackney teams up with Capt. Eddie Berthelot for summertime specks along Fourchon Beach
Grand Isle is home to some serious speckled trout fishing during the summer, and the Sportsman TV crew got in on the action with Capt. Eddie Berthelot on a recent trip out of Bridge Side Marina.
Host Greg Hackney and producer Jared Serigné hopped aboard Berthelot’s Blue Wave and headed to the Fourchon beaches, where they used live croakers and shrimp — as well as topwater lures early on — to stack up on some speckled trout and big redfish.
Berthelot, with Spots & Specks Charters, explains in the episode how he makes up his Carolina rig, and also demonstrates how he hooks live shrimp and croakers to put more specks in the box.
