This technique + wind = big speckled trout haul

Some days are better suited for sailing and kite-flying than they are fishing, but I would rather sit in a dentist’s chair than sail and I haven’t flown a kite since I was a kid. I’m an angler, and when I get a time window, I’m going to be on the water.

That’s where I was on Friday after a hellacious cold front blew through the night before, spinning tornadoes across South Louisiana and dumping more rain than the average tropical storm.

Conditions weren’t exactly the best, but I used a technique that works more times than it doesn’t on bad-weather days to put nearly a limit of speckled trout in the boat.
