Perfect setup for a speckled trout blitz

Slow speckled trout trips are part of a South Louisiana fisherman’s life, but no outing on the water can stay minimally productive when conditions are perfect on a beautiful fall day.

My good fishing buddy Chris Macaluso didn’t set the world on fire at the beginning of a recent trip into local marshes, but we sure closed out the day the right way, yanking speckled trout after speckled trout over the gunwale of my aluminum boat.

It was the type of trip that makes autumn the best season of the year.
