Earlier this month, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced the kick-off event celebrating Parc Natchitoches joining the Get Out & Fish! Program. This family-friendly fishing event will include a fishing tournament for all ages, various fishing activities and demonstrations, and raffle prizes! The pond will be stocked with adult-size channel catfish prior to the event.

Join LDWF and the City of Natchitoches from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022 at Parc Natchitoches for a day full of fun, fishing, and festivities! Pre-registration is open until noon on Thursday, Oct. 27. The first 100 youth registered will receive a goody bag, and every participant will be entered into a raffle drawing to win prizes.

To pre-register for this event, or for more information visit www.wlf.la.gov/gof. You can also follow us and tag them on Facebook and Instagram @ldwfgetoutandfish. Anglers 18 and older must possess a valid Louisiana recreational fishing license. Licenses can be purchased at www.LouisianaOutdoors.com.

For anglers looking to sharpen their skills, LDWF is hosting Beginner Catfishing courses as part of the new Fishing Course Series at the event sites. Participants can register for these courses at www.LouisianaOutdoors.com/events. Beginner Catfishing courses will be offered on Friday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. for All Ages, and on Oct. 29 from 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. for anglers 16 and older.

The Get Out &Fish! program is supported by the Sport Fish Restoration Fund and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation.
