Central Lafourche High School athletics holds fishing tournaments

Help Central Lafourche High School athletes overcome their COVID year by competing for great prizes in one or both official Trojan Athletic Association fishing tournaments.

“Due to COVID-19, athletic events were canceled last year, and no fundraising was accomplished either,” said Heather Babin of the TAA. “Our goal is to raise enough money this year to help CLHS athletics get back on track. We need to get our kids back on track.”

The first annual TAA Jugline Jamboree will be held July 16-17. The Jamboree begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 16. Weigh-in will be at Beck’s Bar in Raceland at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 17. Entry fee is $60 per boat, which includes the bunker pot. First place wins $500, second $300 and third $2020.

The first annual TAA Bass Bash will be held on Aug. 7. Boaters may leave 30 minutes before official sunrise, and weigh-in is at 1 p.m. at Beck’s Bar in Raceland. Top three fish 12 inches or longer will be weighed. The entry fee is $60 for two anglers in a boat, $55 for single-angler boats.
