This time of year, the Mississippi River gets slower than a dash at the Senior Olympics, and that means the bass that live there all year, far out of the reach of anglers, have to move out to the passes.
It’s in those areas that anglers like Jeff Bruhl target them, dropping soft-plastics next to stands of roseau cane and ripping out fish that protest with frothy eruptions. It’s one of the most exciting forms of fishing that exists on the planet.
