For speckled trout anglers, the winter of 2020-21 was like waking up Christmas morning and finding under the tree a beautifully wrapped empty box.
There were some fish around, but the action was nowhere near what South Louisiana anglers have grown to expect.
But oh my, this young spring is shaping up to be one of the best in recent memory.
This week, I took my son Joel, and my niece’s husband, Dustin Jones, on an exploratory mission deep in the marshes of Plaquemines Parish, and boy did we find what we were looking for!
