This isn’t challenging or sophisticated, but it’s tons of fun! White trout schools get insanely thick in the fall as the fish stage up to feed before moving out to big water.
So after a super successful morning, Capt. Ryan Lambert, Jeff Bruhl and I went to a cut off one of the passes at the mouth of the Mississippi River to see if they were there. First stop was a dud because the water was still, but at the second stop, a beautiful eddy told us we were in the right spot before we even made a cast.
Almost immediately, we began putting fish in the boat every drop. We caught all we wanted to clean, and left them biting.
