Bream are seen as beginner fish by many anglers, who graduate to bigger species and greater challenges. I know I’m certainly guilty of that mindset.
But Jeff Bruhl targets bream, a.k.a. bluegill, every year at this time on an area river, and he can’t get enough of it. The Madisonville angler uses a host of techniques, but his absolute favorite is to throw Beetle Spins to the hard-fighting fish. He and I did that this week, and man, it was an absolute blast!
