You’d probably think that, as a professional fishing guide, Capt. Justin Bowles would want to spend his off days on the golf course or sitting on his couch — anything but standing on the deck of a boat with a rod in his hands.
But the marshes of southern Plaquemines Parish, and the style of fishing there, are far removed from the Slidell dock that’s Bowles’ base of operations. So he was eager to tag along with me and experience the magic of Venice when the Mississippi River is low.
