Very few anglers have gotten on the water since the passage of Hurricane Ida, since so many are still dealing with more critical matters like repairing their roofs or gutting their houses. Besides that, much of the fishing infrastructure was destroyed in the storm, and will take months to rebuild.
Last week, I was able to slip out on a trip, and found some positives and some negatives — one of the latter being a lack of submerged aquatic vegetation and, as a result, few fish.
Fortunately, though, on this week’s trip, I found exactly what I was looking for.
