Loading up on crabs off a public dock

Among all the creations of mankind, boats are the most awesome. They’re devices made of metal, fiberglass or wood, weighing thousands of pounds, that move effortlessly across the surface of the water, ferrying their operators to hideouts that the creatures of the sea call home.

Most of the time, they’re essential for success on the water. But if you go to this spot, you can leave your boat in the garage.

My grandson Liam and I went to check out a public dock, and we brought along some chicken drumsticks to see if we could catch some crabs, and sure enough, we loaded up!
