A fishing trip to remember for Wyatt

Wyatt Saucier, 15, was on an early morning fishing trip to Prien Lake with his dad when he caught this giant bull red.

“On an early morning fishing trip to Prien Lake with my dad, I managed to get hooked up on my possible biggest redfish yet! All my life I’ve loved to fish. I would go out with my dad on an early morning to go catch bass, and now many years later I’m still at it. We woke up early that morning, around 3 to get an early start on some feeding fish under lights. Pulling up, we saw more shad splashing than we ever had. We fished around for a while, and it was surprisingly slow. We were about to give up, but I threw my swimbait out and I knew I had hooked possibly a new pb. I just held on as that fish pulled my drag all around the boat. It even went under the boat, and dashed towards the trolling motor. Nervous, it might tangle up in the trolling motor and break off, we pulled the trolling motor up. After a good fight, we got it close enough to net. My dad swooped down with the net and pulled it in the boat. We looked at each other realizing how big the fish was and knew we would remember the moment. Not 2 minutes later after releasing the fish my phone fell in the lake. I knew I had to dive down and find it knowing the water was only just over 6 foot, and after 5 minutes I was happy to find it still working. Safe to say, it was definitely a fishing trip to remember.”
