April is a month of trout migration, which keeps anglers on the throttle and checking Facebook posts for clues. April of 2021 has been especially tough, because the frequent strong winds have kept me away from some of the spots I would normally be fishing regularly. Fortunately, the Mississippi estuary is huge and offers many locations to fish, even in the toughest wind conditions.
On this day, I needed to pull out my digital logbook to help me find general regions where speckled trout would likely be hanging out and where I could fish despite the ferocious wind. I was rewarded for my efforts by speckled trout catches in a variety of habitats and with various artificial baits.
