To his many viewers, Matthew Isbell is known as Bama Beach Bum because he specializes in fishing telephone-pole-length surf rods with his toes in the sand along the Alabama coast. But even though he’s less than a three-hour drive from the Bayou State, Isbell had never fished the marshes of South Louisiana — until last week.
I had the pleasure of hosting him for two days of fishing, and well, you know: The autumn in Louisiana is hard to beat. We caught fish almost nonstop for two days.
