Delacroix is one of Louisiana’s greatest inshore fishing destinations for speckled trout and redfish, and that’s exactly what I went to target out of Sweetwater Marina in the early morning hours of this August fishing trip.
Plan A was to catch a limit of speckled trout on rigs and islands or under diving birds and, if that didn’t go well, then roll over to Plan B in search of an excellent redfish bite.
The day was more than just a fishing trip, it was an adventure! I ran from lighting, water spouts, blinding rain, got hooked in the knee and found some awesome speckled trout and redfish action.
