Catch and cook: More fish crowding into the marsh

Fall is the season for family, football and fishing, and what makes that last element so awesome is that speckled trout that spent the summer spawning in outside waters are moving back into the marshes to feast on hapless white shrimp to gain body fat to help survive the lean winter months.

In the marshes, the specks fight for elbow room with the redfish that were already there and the flounder that are also making their seasonal migration. It all makes for the easiest fishing of the year, and this week, I got in on it.
