This week, my good fishing buddy Capt. Justin Bowles and I set out from his dock on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain to see if speckled trout have begun their annual spring run at the historic train trestle that connects Slidell to New Orleans East.
We initially got only random bites, until we figured out the exact way the fish wanted the lures presented. Then, the action became lights out!
