This time of year, magical things happen in the bayous that twist and turn through nearly every acre of the extensive Louisiana coast.
White shrimp that have spent the warm-weather months growing from larval stage to meaty monsters hop on the conveyor belts of falling tides, and migrate out of the marsh and into the big bays.
They start that journey through the bayous, and a trip I took this week revealed everything has already kicked off.
