On the big screen, the Italian Stallion had some epic boxing matches with Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago throughout the Rocky movie franchise.

Last November, Jimmy Leonard did his best Sylvester Stallone impersonation with a buck in Pointe Coupee Parish — minus the boxing gloves.

After a weekend duck hunt that nearly ended with catastrophe in the cold waters of the Mississippi River, Matt Grabert called Saturday’s experience “the scariest thing I’ve ever been through.

“When you get thrown into the water at 4:45 in the morning, helpless in the middle of the river … it could have been a much different result,” said Grabert, of Boutte. “I could barely process it when it was happening.”

When scouting, be sure to mark any rubs you see on your GPS unit.

Use your GPS now to improve your hunting in 2017

If you have a handheld GPS unit, you can really put it to use for your hunting. Even in preparing for the next season.

Of course a smart phone with a GPS program will work to a degree, but it will not be as accurate if you use your GPS with the wide area augmentation system (WAAS) feature activated.
