State agencies, safety advocates, educators, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, and community partners from across Louisiana will come together to officially launch the Louisiana Youth ATV/UTV Safety Task Force during a statewide kickoff event focused on protecting Louisiana’s youth through education, awareness, and collaboration.
The launch event will be held during Louisiana ATV Safety Week happening June 8-14 and will highlight the growing need for youth ATV/UTV safety education and injury prevention efforts across the state.
The Louisiana Youth ATV/UTV Safety Task Force was formed through a collaborative effort of public safety, transportation, agriculture, wildlife, healthcare, and community stakeholders who recognize the importance of working together to reduce preventable crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving youth ATV and UTV operation.
The Task Force mission is to promote ATV/UTV safety awareness, encourage responsible riding practices, support educational outreach efforts, and strengthen partnerships that help protect Louisiana families and communities.
The launch event will include:
- Welcome remarks from state and community leaders
- Presentation of Louisiana ATV/UTV injury and fatality data
- A victim impact story emphasizing the importance of safety education
- Introduction of the Task Force mission and goals
- Recognition of statewide partners and stakeholders
- Media and photo opportunities
“This initiative is about bringing people together with one common goal — protecting Louisiana’s youth,” said Secretary Tyler Bosworth with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and member of the Louisiana Youth ATV/UTV Safety Task Force. “Through collaboration, education, and community engagement, we hope to create a stronger culture of ATV and UTV safety across our state.”
The Louisiana Youth ATV/UTV Safety Task Force encourages parents, caregivers, educators, law enforcement agencies, agricultural organizations, youth-serving groups, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to become involved in the effort.
