LDWF reminds public West Pearl River Bridge on U.S. Hwy. 90 remains closed

With teal season opening Saturday, Sept. 10, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) would like to remind the public that the West Pearl River Bridge on U.S. Highway 90 in St. Tammany Parish remains closed, restricting access to the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Middle River boat launch.

The bridge was closed indefinitely May 24 by inspectors with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) who found significant deterioration of the deck supports. There is no timeline on when the bridge will be reopened.

The Pearl River WMA, which consists of 35,618 acres, is located approximately six miles east of Slidell and approximately one mile east of Pearl River.
