Amount equals 54 percent of Louisiana’s recreational allocation
Through July 8, recreational offshore anglers have harvested just over 407,000 pounds of red snapper, according to the LA Creel program with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
That means about 54 percent of Louisiana’s recreational allocation of 743,000 pounds has been reached through the first week of July, according to press release from the department.
The current weekends-only season will continue to run until recreational landings approach or reach Louisiana’s allocation, the release states.
