
A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agent cited four men for alleged hunting violations on Dec. 16 in St. Charles Parish.
Lt. Thomas Wolf cited Sharrone Scott, 30, of Boutte, Yuri Santos-Pavaneli, 28, of Kenner, Kendrick Simmons, 32, of Boutte, and James Sam, 37, of New Orleans, for hunting wild game quadrupeds during illegal hours and hunting without a basic hunting license.
Lt. Wolf received information about four subjects hunting at night with headlamps on Dec. 16 near Ama. Lt. Wolf arrived on the scene and observed the subjects actively hunting.
Lt. Wolf made contact with the subjects and found them in possession of three harvested rabbits. Scott admitted to harvesting one of the rabbits and Simmons admitted to harvesting the other two rabbits.
During the investigation, Lt. Wolf learned that none of the subjects had any hunting licenses.
Lt. Wolf seized the three rabbits and donated them to a local charity.
Hunting without a basic hunting license brings up to a $350 fine for each offense. Hunting wild game quadrupeds during illegal hours brings a $250 to $500 fine and up to 90 days of jail.
Scott will also face civil restitution totaling up to $31 for the replacement value of the rabbit he harvested. Simmons will also face civil restitution totaling $63 for the replacement value of the two rabbits he harvested.
