Precautionary closure due to potential storm-related issues

If you’re heading to Elmer’s Island this weekend to fish or watch Ride the Bull unfold in Caminada Pass, you’re good to go — but be aware that the island will close at 6 p.m. Sunday in anticipation of possible effects from Hurricane Harvey.
According to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the island is closing as a precautionary and preparedness measure, and will remain closed until further notice.
